Terms of Service
Last updated: October 19, 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Haunt My Block™ website and purchase of Haunt My Block™ products (“Service”). By using the Service or placing an order you agree to these Terms. Questions: hauntmyblock@agentmail.to.
Who we are (seller)
The Service is sold by [LEGAL NAME OF SELLER] · [BUSINESS MAILING ADDRESS], Alaska, USA (“we”, “us”), operating under the name Haunt My Block™. Contact: hauntmyblock@agentmail.to.
1. The Service
Haunt My Block™ creates personalized, fictional ghost stories inspired by real public-domain historical newspaper items (published 1930 or earlier, sourced from the Library of Congress Chronicling America collection) relating to a US street, town, or region you provide. Products are digital unless otherwise stated.
2. Fiction disclaimer
Every story is a work of fiction. Characters are invented. Real historical events appear only as background and are cited. No claim is made that any property is haunted, that any event in the story occurred, or that any real person living or dead was involved in the fictional events.
2a. AI disclosure
Stories, case-file text, and narration are created with the help of artificial-intelligence tools (AI-assisted writing and an AI-generated narration voice), then checked automatically before delivery. Historical newspaper items are real, public-domain, and cited; the surrounding story is fiction.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and located in the United States to purchase. Addresses must be in the United States.
- Family-Friendly Edition is a gentle story for a general, all-ages audience. It may only be ordered by an adult (18+), who decides whether it is suitable for their household. Children may not create orders or provide information to us; we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
- After Dark Edition contains intense horror, including mature and violent themes, and is for adults 18+ only. You must confirm at checkout that you are at least 18 years old, and you agree not to share After Dark Edition content with minors.
4. Orders, pricing, and payment
- All prices are in US dollars (USD). The Family-Friendly Edition and the After Dark Edition (both digital) are $14 each. Mailed ($39) and Gift ($49) Editions are not yet available. Where our free preview shows only region-level history, a $5 discount is applied automatically. Applicable taxes are shown at checkout.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number.
- At checkout your card is authorized (a temporary hold). It is charged only after your story passes our automated quality checks. If it does not pass, or we cannot deliver, the authorization is released and you are not charged.
5. Delivery
Digital products are delivered by email with a private download link, usually within about 30 minutes of checkout. Delivery may take longer during high demand or if a historical archive is temporarily unavailable. Please keep your link private; anyone with the link can access your files.
5a. Digital Gifts
You may buy either edition as a Digital Gift ($14 USD) for a recipient whose US address and email you provide, with a scheduled delivery date and time up to 60 days ahead. Gift buyers must give their name, which appears in the gift email (“name sent you…”). The email includes a one-click opt-out and a report-abuse link, and we never email an address that has opted out. By buying a gift you confirm that you know the recipient and have their permission (or reasonably expect their welcome) to use their address and email for this purpose. For After Dark Edition gifts you confirm the recipient is 18 or older; all gifts must be sent to an adult’s email, not a child’s. We create and quality-check the gift story and charge your card at purchase; only the delivery email is scheduled. We email the recipient only once, for delivery, and never add them to marketing. The gift buyer is the customer for refunds. You may cancel or change a scheduled gift any time before its delivery time.
6. Refunds and cancellation
See our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: a full refund, no questions asked, within 30 days of delivery.
7. License to your story
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, perpetual license to download, keep, play, print, and share your story and share video for personal, non-commercial purposes, including posting on social media. Historical newspaper material included in your case file is in the public domain.
Libraries and schools may play purchased Family-Friendly stories at free, non-ticketed public programs.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service or any story:
- to market, advertise, list, or disparage any real property, or in connection with any real-estate transaction;
- to harass, frighten, threaten, or intimidate anyone, including the occupants of any address or the recipient of a gift;
- to present a story as factual, or to suggest that any real person, living or dead, was involved in its fictional events;
- in violation of any law.
We may refuse or cancel (and refund) any order we reasonably believe violates these rules.
9. Content standards
Family-Friendly Edition stories contain no gore and no frightening violence. After Dark Edition stories are intense fictional adult horror, but never sexual and never gratuitously gory, but in both editions we do not name real past residents in stories, we redact personal names in reproduced clippings, and we exclude historical items involving certain tragedies and violence. Historical newspapers can reflect the attitudes of their time; if anything in your order concerns you, contact us.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is.” Historical OCR text and records can contain errors, and coverage varies by location. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question.
11. Affiliation
Haunt My Block™ is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Library of Congress.
Haunt My Block™ is a fiction-writing service. It does not operate a database or registry of hauntings, and it does not accept, host, or publish user-submitted reports about any property.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms; the date above shows the latest version. Contact: hauntmyblock@agentmail.to. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, USA.
